One San Diego resident has a little more spring in her step today. Jo Ann Smith had played only $3.75 when she hit a MegaJackpot® worth $108,827 on a Wheel of Fortune quarter slot machine at Viejas Casino Saturday.
Smith, 62, was visiting Viejas with her husband when he gave her $20. “He said, ‘Go play that machine,’” recounted Smith. Little did she know that five spins later she would multiply her investment more than 29,000 times!
“I didn’t believe I won the jackpot!” said Smith. “Thank the Lord upstairs – he’s been good to me!”
Smith, who is retired, says she loves to play Wheel of Fortune quarter slot machines. Wheel of Fortune is her favorite TV show as well.
Smith plans to spend her winnings on her children and her church.
